La thèse vise à analyser la façon dont Hayek applique la théorie de l’auto-organisation à l’explication de l’esprit et des phénomènes sociaux. Elle étudie notamment les rapports entre l’individualisme méthodologique de Hayek et sa psychologie cognitive, ainsi que sa théorie de la cybernétique sociale et de l’évolution culturelle. Thesis title: “The Theory of Self-organization in Hayek’s Thought”

The thesis aims to analyze the way Hayek applies the theory of self-organization to the explanation of mind and social phenomena. In particular, it considers the relationship between Hayek’s approach to methodological individualism and cognitive psychology, as well as covering his theory of social cybernetics and cultural evolution. The Austrian scholar’s work is compared with that of other important theorists of methodological individualism such as Boudon, Merton, Mises, Popper and Weber.
